Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026

From 9 to 12 July 2026, SAGA Classic took part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed for the first time, one of the must-attend events for lovers of speed and exceptional cars, held in the heart of the picturesque Sussex countryside in England.

Every summer since 1993, Goodwood has brought together drivers, enthusiasts and machines from every generation in a truly British atmosphere. It is an opportunity to revisit some of the greatest moments in motorsport history, from historic Formula 1 cars and prototypes to rally cars and iconic models that have left their mark on automotive history.

This year, the Festival of Speed notably celebrated the golden era of the Dakar Rally. An unmissable event for SAGA Classic, which presented a model with a remarkable story: the Mercedes-Benz 500 SLC Dakar.

Entered in the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1984, the Mercedes-Benz coupé and its iconic blue livery made their mark on the African tracks. More than 40 years later, SAGA Classic brought its story back to life with a 500 SLC faithfully rebuilt according to the original factory plans from the period.

Displayed in the Off-Road Arena, the 500 SLC also took part in the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb. Behind the wheel, Ronan Chabot, a veteran of 22 Dakar Rally participations, once again experienced the spirit of the legendary rally raid.

From Dakar to Goodwood, from the tracks of the Ténéré to the English countryside of the Festival of Speed, this first participation gave SAGA Classic the opportunity to bring Mercedes-Benz history and heritage to life once again.

A unique moment combining history, passion and exceptional cars.
