Our history
SAGA Classic is part of the commitment to preserve and pass on the Mercedes-Benz automotive heritage, whose history dates back to 1888. This activity is entirely dedicated to the brand’s historic models, whether Classic or Youngtimer vehicles.
Recognized as an official Mercedes-Benz Classic Partner, SAGA Classic belongs to an international network of specialists selected by the manufacturer for their expertise in the preservation, restoration and enhancement of Mercedes-Benz classic vehicles.
This label, awarded by Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH, certifies compliance with the brand’s standards and guarantees a high level of excellence, both in technical interventions and in access to genuine parts and restoration methods specific to the manufacturer.
The SAGA Classic activity was launched on September 1, 2017 and officially inaugurated on May 23, 2018 in La Roche-sur-Yon, at the headquarters of the RCM Group. It is built on a strong passion for automotive history and a constant commitment to preserving the Mercedes-Benz heritage.
“We are clearly adding a new activity to our distribution group,” explains Ronan Chabot, President of the RCM Group. “This is not a gadget, and I want SAGA Classic to become a fully-fledged department. It is also about passing on this Mercedes-Benz heritage to both our customers and our employees, because passion is an inseparable value of our history.”
From 2019, SAGA Classic expanded its presence with the opening of a dedicated corner within the SAGA Mercedes-Benz dealership in Lille, followed by an expansion in Belgium in Nivelles.
In 2022, it took over the activities of G.G.E Classic at the Saint-Germain-lès-Corbeil site, continuing its development and strengthening its expertise in the service of Mercedes-Benz heritage.
In 2026, during the Rétromobile exhibition, SAGA Classic was officially designated Mercedes-Benz Classic Partner for its dealerships in Lille, Les Ulis and La Roche-sur-Yon.
This status recognizes the expertise, commitment and respect for the manufacturer’s standards in the preservation, restoration and sale of Mercedes-Benz classic vehicles.
Our expertise in automotive restoration
The restoration of Mercedes-Benz classic vehicles within SAGA Classic is based on recognized automotive expertise, carried by Provost Automobiles.
Founded in 1973, Provost Automobiles has supported enthusiasts for more than fifty years in the maintenance, restoration and refurbishment of classic, prestige and sports vehicles. This expertise is now fully integrated into the SAGA Classic activity.
More than a partnership, this integration reflects a shared vision of the profession: technical excellence, respect for heritage and the transmission of know-how.
By combining the historical expertise of Provost Automobiles with the standards of the Mercedes-Benz manufacturer, SAGA Classic strengthens its ability to support collectors over the long term, from specialized maintenance to the complete restoration of Mercedes-Benz classic vehicles.
Our team
Our team is made up of Christophe Relandeau, Louis Moneger and Pauline Chareunphol, who manage vehicle sales and purchases, sourcing and events activities, as well as Stéphane De Smedt in Belgium.
